Masterclass: Leading from the Inside Out: Your Nervous System as a Leadership Instrument
March 12 @ 6:00 pm

In a world that is increasingly brittle, anxious, and unpredictable, the leaders who make the biggest impact aren’t the ones who push hardest. They’re the ones who stay grounded when everything around them isn’t. This 90-minute masterclass with Alina Costache is interactive and grounded in your own experience as a leader: it explores why your nervous system state shapes how you think, decide, and influence others more than any skill or strategy – and why what most people call resilience is actually keeping them stuck.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Drawing on key principles from neurobiology, this session introduces self-regulation as a core leadership competency, exploring how your nervous system state drives your impact on the people and systems around you. Key areas covered include:
- The relationship between nervous system state and leadership effectiveness in high-pressure environments
- The three states that govern how we think, decide, and connect, and how to recognise which one you’re operating from
- Why leaders get trapped cycling between overdrive and burnout, and what genuine resilience actually looks like
- How your state directly shapes your team’s performance through emotional contagion and the dynamics of co-regulation
- How to identify the personal anchors that keep you steady under pressure
LEARNING OUTCOMESÂ
By the end of this masterclass, participants will:
- Have mapped their own patterns under pressure and the signals they tend to miss
- Understand the direct impact their nervous system state has on their team’s capacity to think, collaborate, and perform
- Have reframed what resilience means in practice, moving beyond the push-and-crash cycle
- Have identified their personal anchors for staying grounded when the context is chaotic
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
Open for corporate and entrepreneurial senior leaders responsible for high-stakes programs, strategic priorities, or major transformations, and who recognize the realities of operating in a BANI world — brittle systems, rising anxiety, nonlinear change, and increasing incomprehensibility.

ABOUT THE LECTURER
Alina Costache is an executive coach and leadership facilitator with 20 years of experience working at the intersection of business performance and human behaviour. She has held senior leadership roles inside Fortune 100 organisations such as J.P. Morgan and has coached and developed thousands of senior leaders and executive teams across global giants and dynamic scale-ups, through her own practice and as a senior advisor at Korn Ferry.
Alongside her corporate work, Alina practises as a psychotherapeutic counsellor and holds specialist qualifications in applied neurobiology and group dynamics. She brings these two worlds together to help leaders see clearly what is driving their behaviour under pressure, and to build the capacity to lead with skill, steadiness, and presence even when the context is chaotic.
Within Leading in a BANI World: Building Adaptive and Systemic Leadership, Alina Costache delivers a module dedicated to strengthening leaders’ self-regulation, expanding emotional capacity, and navigating high-pressure relational dynamics. Participants learn to widen their resilience window, manage reactivity under stress, stay grounded in difficult conversations, and maintain influence and clarity when stakes are high and ambiguity is constant, especially in a BANI world, one that is brittle (systems that appear strong but can fracture under pressure), anxious (marked by persistent uncertainty and stress), nonlinear (where cause and effect are disproportionate), and often incomprehensible (too complex to be fully understood).
