Community Masterclass: What it takes to be an efficient mentor

This event is open to BISM Community members (students and alumni). They can bring guests.

Mentorship fosters growth for both mentors and mentees through relationships and discussions in which experienced leaders guide and inspire the next generation. There are certain strategies and best practices of effective mentorship and we will be looking into them together.

This event explores the essence of mentorship, emphasizing its role in promoting continuous learning and development within organizations and business life. Participants will explore the various roles of a mentor, including coach, advisor, role model, and confidant, all aimed at driving personal and professional growth.

What you will learn:

  • What mentorship is (and isn’t)
  • What are the steps to take when looking at being a mentor
  • What objectives can business mentorship help achieve
  • The relationship between mentees and mentors

The masterclass is addressed to anyone working in a business setting or who wants to pass forward his know-how to peers who need to grow in any type of business-focused setting. In line with our ethos, this masterclass will be based on practical information, which you can apply in your day-to-day role.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Indira Abdulvoap (RO9 Alumna) left her position as GM at the multinational at the end of 2014 to explore entrepreneurship. She developed her own company for 5 years before making an exit. Meanwhile, she has been/continues to be a CEO, Business Development Manager or Innovation Manager at several companies in different industries – edtech, F&B, services. She is lecturer and business mentor to students at The Entrepreneurship Academy, lecturer to students at Bucharest International School of Management and business mentor in different entrepreneurial programs.

Valentin Ivanescu (RO10 Alumnus) is a highly experienced coach, trainer, and business consultant with over 20 years of experience in management roles ranging from middle to C-Level. Currently, he is in the final stage of attaining Mastery Coaching and becoming a Master Certified Coach (MCC).
