Masterclass: New Business Models

Business is changing and what got you here won’t get you there. But, if you’ve been successful, you are naturally inclined to stick to your old business model. Until an innovative newcomer disrupts it and eats away your success.

Old models, based on beating your competitors in how well you utilize your assets (more seats in a plane, more billable hours per consultant) or on protecting and showing off your uniqueness (shiny brands, triple crown accreditations) give way to new, open models, where your success comes from helping other firms succeed and innovate.

This masterclass is meant to discuss and play with new (and counterintuitive) business models which are based on creating ecosystems. If you are successful, this masterclass will show you ways to scale your success. If you now launch a business, it will describe the best ways to grow and to disrupt the playground.

Plus, at the end of the evening, we will present a new BISM Program we are launching this autumn.

The masterclass is addressed to managers and business leaders who want to explore new ways to generate revenue. In line with our ethos, this masterclass will be based on practical information, which you can apply in your day-to-day role.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Radu Atanasiu is Associate Dean at the Bucharest International School of  Management. He teaches, researches, and writes about managerial decision-making, critical thinking, and strategy. Radu wrote two books, published in Germany and the Netherlands, has a podcast with MindArchitect about day-to-day decision-making, and writes regularly for Revista Biz and Psychology Today. Radu holds a PhD from the VU in Amsterdam and an Executive MBA from the CEU Business School.Aside from teaching about ecosystems at BISM and at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam, Radu has practical contact with the topic: he invested as angel in companies that built successful ecosystems – such as 2Performant or InkShares – and he just started a company which aims to build an ecosystem for collaborative
managerial tools.
