Building Adaptive and Systemic Leadership: Leading for a BANI World

The world has moved beyond VUCA. The BANI framework – Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, Incomprehensible, coined by futurist Jamais Cascio, better captures today’s reality of fragile systems, constant pressure, and unpredictable change. In this environment, traditional leadership models fall short. To thrive, leaders must develop adaptive capacity, systemic awareness, and emotional resilience — leading with clarity and trust when certainty disappears.

Our new executive program, “Leading in a BANI World – Building Adaptive and Systemic Leadership”, launching in November 2025, helps senior leaders build exactly that. Across 4 intensive modules over 9 days, participants explore cutting-edge frameworks and hands-on practices to expand their operating modes, navigate complexity, regulate under pressure, and lead from values and relationships.

Adaptive Leadership & Systemic Archetypes with George Bragadireanu

In the program, George leads two critical modules: Introduction to Adaptive Leadership (introducing the BANI framework through the Cynefin lens and building adaptive skills through the AQai assessment) and Systemic Archetypes & Integration (applying systemic thinking to identify leverage points and integrate all frameworks into a coherent leadership practice).

In this masterclass, George will introduce you to:

  • Why traditional leadership approaches fail in today’s economic reality
  • How to diagnose complex challenges across different types of realities
  • How to develop personal adaptability and resilience
  • How to self-regulate yourself and others in extreme stress situations
  • How to apply systemic thinking to identify high-leverage solutions

Attitudes and Behaviors for Adapting to a BANI World with Adrian Stanciu

In the program, Adrian leads a 1-day module exploring the fundamental difference between transactional spaces (based on rules and control) and social spaces (based on values and collaboration), and why expanding the space of values is critical for leading in uncertain times.

In this masterclass, you will discover:

  • The difference between transactional systems (rule-based, predictable but rigid) and relational systems (value-based, adaptive, and resilient)
  • Why cities thrive while many companies decay and what this reveals about how relationships and collaboration are structured
  • Why it’s time to question traditional management models designed for stability, not complexity
  • How to build antifragile organizations that grow stronger through uncertainty – like cities, not fragile like most companies.

Self-Regulation and Relational Dynamics with Alina Costache

In the program, Alina leads a 2-day module developing leaders’ emotional spectrum, resilience, system-sensing, and relational influence by teaching how to expand tolerance for uncomfortable emotions, map personal triggers, practice real-time self-regulation, and navigate organizational politics to mobilize systems through “productive disruption.”

In this masterclass, Alina will introduce you to:

  • Why nervous system regulation is the missing link in leadership –  and the brain science behind losing access to your best thinking under pressure
  • How to notice when you’re operating in vs. outside of your optimal zone (a core self-regulation skill)
  • How to build relational intelligence to navigate organizational politics, mobilize networks, and transform resistance into momentum for change

George Bragadireanu is a Master Certified Coach (MCC) – one of only 1,800 worldwide, with over 5,000 coaching hours and 15 years of corporate leadership experience at UniCredit Banking Group. 

Adi Stanciu is a highly experienced leadership and culture expert who has led major transformation programs across Romanian organizations. He specializes in corporate culture, change management, and leadership development, helping leaders and teams build adaptive, high-performing cultures.

Alina Costache is based in London and works globally, bringing 20+ years of leadership experience spanning Fortune 500 companies (J.P. Morgan, Korn Ferry) and startup environments.
